Some of you will use your current journal as a research/dialectical log for Chapter 8's exploratory essay. Some of you will start a new log. This journal, or log, should have the following items by the end of the semester (see calendar for specifics):

--Freewrite about a problem or question you have written about thus far using the templates on p. 170, #3 (see in-class activity #4 on April 5th), and/or using hot spots from previous essays--try to focus on a single problem.

--Print and read at least 2 Internet articles on your problem (highlight and annotate with and against the grain).

--Freewrite strong (dialectical) responses to your Internet articles (what are you learning or thinking as you read?).

--Take notes from a discussion you have with others about your topic.

--Freewrite strong (dialectical) responses to a discussion you have with others about your topic.

--Print and read at least 2 InfoTrac articles on your problem (highlight and annotate with and against the grain).

--Freewrite strong (dialectical) responses to your InfoTrac articles (what are you learning or thinking as you read?).

--Freewrite answers to the questions on your problem's or exploration's significance.
