| After Poultry Magic broke up in 1988, I got word that there was a new band in El Sobrante looking for a singer. After the usual getting-to-know-you jitters, we were off and running. In a bit under two years, we recorded two demo tapes at the Gilman Street Warehouse and played lots of shows around the Bay Area. | Genre-wise (if I had to classify), Tally Hoe! was a sort of posi straight edge band similar--although certainly not as good as--Free Will, Justice League, Verbal Assault, and the like, with vocals striving too hard to be Kevin Seconds. A bit too much moralizing, boy scout mentality, but I suppose that goes along with the genre as well. . . | |
| As so often happens--although I have to blame this for the most part on Dave E.C.--I got stuck with "Chuck Hoe" for a while after the band broke up--far into the Monsula years but thankfully forgotten now. . . |
| I'll see if I can get some photos up sometime... |
