Current Research Projects

In collaboration with the Utah Division of Water Quality:

Water quality monitoring as part of TMDL assessments in the Spanish Fork River   (Utah County; since 2003) and the Weber River basin (Summit County; since 2004).

Impact assessment of a new sewage treatment plant below Jordanelle Reservoir on the Provo River (Wasatch County; since 2008).

I am also part of the research group evaluating water quality in the freshwater wetlands surrounding the Great Salt Lake.  Information on that research, including my work on macroinvertebrates, can be found at the UDWQ wetlands website

I also conduct field studies of macroinvertebrates for the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest and various local water districts for ongoing water quality monitoring and federal 303(d) permitting.
